Not only is type 2 diabetes completely preventable, it is usually curable with some simple lifestyle adjustments.
Diabetes is an epidemic affecting more than 26 million Americans. On top of this there are over 80 million people who have been diagnosed as pre-diabetics, meaning it is only a matter of time before they too will be put on a medication. Unfortunately misinformation leads them to believe they have to be on medication for the rest of their life. In addition most people do not realize there is major collateral damage going on in there bodies despite being on diabetes medication.
Classic Signs you may be pre-diabetic or diabetic
Unusual weight gain, excessive thirst, blurred vision, frequent infections, extreme hunger even after eating, irritability, blood sugar handling issues, chronic fatigue, low or high blood pressure and numbness and tingling in hands and feet.
There are two types of diabetes
Type 1 diabetes
In Type 1 , your body’s own immune system( auto-immune ) destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. This deficiency of insulin is why Type 1 is called “insulin-dependent”—because more often than not, type 1 diabetics must give themselves supplemental insulin. The body simply can’t make it anymore.
Type 2 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes( diet induced or chronic high blood sugar) is by far the more common form of the disease, affecting 90 to 95 percent of diabetics. Type 2 is completely preventable as well as nearly 100% curable. If you have type 2, your body is producing some insulin but is use it properly. This is an advanced stage of insulin resistance. Since your insulin is inadequate, sugar(Glucose) can’t get into your cells and instead builds up in your blood, causing a variety of problems. This is why diabetics have elevated blood sugar levels.
Importantly most diabetics don’t know is that even though they are taking a medication, it will not protect them from suffering the collateral damage that comes along with a diabetes diagnosis.
